Hope and the Magic Martian – Children’s book review: Moss Green Children’s Books

I have just finished reading an excellent Children’s book called Hope and the Martian. This children’s book is written by Helen Moore who is an eco poet and artist-writer. This is an ideal background for a children’s book about climate change. The publisher is Lollypop publishing

The children’s book is about Hope who is keen to meet a Martian and has been given a telescope by her father for her birthday.

“Taking a deep breath. Hope mouthed her birthday wish into the night air. Concentrating very hard, she tried to imagine her silent words going off into deepest space.

Dear Martians, my name is Hope and if you can hear me, please come to earth and find me soon… please come soon, pleeeeeeeeeeeease.”

Martin Love is the Magic Martian who learns from his father that something strange is happening on planet earth. The poles, at the end of each end of the earth are both melting,

Hope’s very faint birthday wish is heard by Martin Love. He agrees with his father to go to earth to find out what is the problem with the planet.

This is the introduction to the Magic Martian helping Hope to make small changes at home and at school to make a difference for planet earth.

The concept of climate change is introduced to children as part of the story in this children’s book. Climate change is an integral part of the story which all children will be able to understand and relate to.

Hope and the Magic Martian is an All Green Book. It is engagingly written and will hold the attention of all who read it. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to entertain and educate your children.
