The Smartest Giant in Town is a children’s book that you really must read to your children.
This is an original story about a giant and not your usual giant that you will find in many other children’s books. However, to begin with you might think otherwise.
“George was a giant, the scruffiest giant in town. He always wore the same pair of brown sandals and the same old patched- up gown.
I wish I wasn’t the scruffiest giant in town” he said sadly”
So one day he sees a new shop selling giant-size clothes. He decides it is time for a new look.
George buys himself smart trousers, a smart shirt, stripy tie and shiny shoes.
On the way home George has a number of adventures. He meets a number of different animals who desperately need his help. What he does is way beyond what most of us do in helping out someone in need.
George is a very kind and thoughtful Giant who comes to the rescue of everyone else who is in need.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this children’s book. I was therefore not surprised to read the following review from The Independent on Sunday.
My absolute favourite of this year’s picture books…..Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler are a combination made in heaven.
The smartest Giant in Town is evaluated as not green.
