I thought that I should share with you a poem I picked up in the local library. Clown in the Moon was printed on a freebie postcard from the BBC asking us to vote for our favourite poet. This poem written by Dylan Thomas about the earth and the environment is a very intense and powerful poem.
My tears are like the quiet drift
Of petals from some magic rose;
And all my grief flows from the rift
Of unremembered skies and snows.
I think that, if I touched the earth,
It would crumble;
It is so sad and beautiful,
So tremulously like a dream.
