Organic Alice is a children’s book which will introduce the important subject of Organic farming to your audience. Organic Alice and the wiggly jiggly worms is about soil and how Organic farmers look after and improve their soil. It is the old adage feed the soil and not the plant.
“This is Alice on her
Organic farm.
If she finds minibeasts she
Must stay calm.”
“Try not to giggle, wriggle or squirm,
As you look for wiggly jiggly worms.”
Alice is unable to find any worms in the soil on the farm. Her father explains that before they arrived the soil was soaked in chemical sprays. This is what has killed off all of the worms.
Alice’s father plants clover on the barren land. The clover is then ploughed in the land which provides sustenance for the worms and brings them back.
How to make compost and what to include in the composting process is fully explained in Organic Alice’s children’s book.
