Doing the Garden | Children’s Book Review |Moss Green Children’s Books

Doing the Garden is a cheerful and fun children’s book that is written for pre school children.

The children’s book is about Mum and the children visiting the garden centre. Seeds are chosen and so is a large tree. Mum takes them all back home in the pram. At the same time the children struggle homenwith the bedding plants and a gnome.

The illustrations are very detailed and in themselves tell the story of life in this busy, hectic and slightly chaotic family.

There is a slightly romantic and idealised portrayal of family life in this children’s book which I appreciated. When father gets back late from home he is going to find a very tired family who have fallen asleep on the kitchen floor.

“Wendy Cooling of Bookstart commented. I love Sarah Garland’s books for toddlers – they’re full of real families, well observed, funny and true; perfect to grow up with.”

Humour and fun can be found on every page of the children’s book. The book is evaluated as a Touch Green
