To create a sustainable book all you need to do is to plant a tree. Once upon a time your book was a tree.
In order to balance out the purchase of your book you can arrange to have a tree planted for you. Once you have placed your book order, send us an email at customerservice@mossgreenchildrensbooks.co.uk and we will contact our friends at Eco-Libris who will plant a tree – or as many as you want – for you.
Eco-Libris provide this affordable and simple tree planting service to create a sustainable book for you. The trees are planted by Eco-Libris’ planting partners in developing countries.
The planting partners also run conservation activities with their local communities, working together in the transition to a sustainable future. The planting partners are Ripple Africa, Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) and The Alliance for International Reforestation. You will receive an Eco-Libris sticker for every tree that you plant. The sticker is manufactured from recycled paper and has been designed for you to put on the cover of every book that you balance out.
Each sticker that you proudly planted on your book’s front cover represents the tree that has been proudly planted for you! Think of that sticker as a sign of how committed you are to sustainability and responsibility for the use of our natural resources, and as a reminder to carry on doing just that. We want to encourage more sustainable books and more sustainable reading, and that’s why we’re working with the folks over at Eco-Libris
Remember – once your children have grown out of a book you can recycle it by finding it a new home. This can be done by donating your book to the local Oxfam store, or to another charity shop of your choice, who we’re sure will appreciate your donation and find a lovely new home for your books.
Moss Green Children’s Books will plant a tree for every ten books sold. At a minimum one tree will produce approximately 3o books of 500 pages each. A quick search on the web will reveal that one tree cut down by the paper industry will produce approximately 16 reams of A4 paper. For your information one ream equates to approximately 500 pages of A4 paper.
