Moss Green Children’s Books
Moss Green Children’s Books is a Social Enterprise with an online bookshop of children’s books. The company has been created to: Help parents educate their children about the environment; generate an income for children’s charities.
The short term environmental goal of Moss Green Children’s Books is to reduce its carbon footprint by 2.5% from 7.67 CO2e in 2009 to 7.50 CO2e in 2010. To achieve this reduction we will implement the following objectives through our environmental action plan:
Objectives
- Measure electricity and natural gas consumption monthly
- Analyse and take appropriate action to reduce energy consumption
- Modify switching controls to minimise electricity consumption
- Purchase recycled material paper and ink cartridges
- Communicate the environmental policy to customers through the website
In the long term the environmental objective of Moss Green Children’s Books is to only sell children’s books printed on recycled paper and to create a green future through the sale of green books to children.
Implementation and Communication
The environmental policy will be implemented by the agreed dates in our detailed environmental action plan. Communication of the environmental policy to our staff, customers and suppliers will be through the website.
Review
There will be a quarterly progress review activities and an annual review of the environmental policy. In the annual review the objectives will be set and agreed for the subsequent years by the Board.
