Why is the Sky Blue? by Sally Grindley

Why is the Sky Blue? by Sally Grindley

Why is the Sky Blue? is a gentle and fun children’s book, about a Donkey who has probably seen his better years and a young Rabbit. Sally Grindley is the author and Susan Varley created the charming illustrations.

“RABBIT and DONKEY lived in the same field.
Donkey spent his days in the corner nodding
His head wisely and chewing on the grass.”

“Rabbit popped up all over the place. His burrow
Had many openings and he used them all.”

The Donkey knows a lot of different things. Rabbit was very young and wanted to learn everything that Donkey knows. This is an ideal relationship. The Donkey agrees to teach rabbit.

Everything does not quite go as originally planned. Rabbit and Donkey nevertheless, become very good friends. Donkey is reinvigorated in Why is the Sky Blue which is a fun and enthralling children’s book. This children’s book is evaluated as Not Green

Shhh! by Sally Grindley and Peter Utton

Shhh! by Sally Grindley and Peter Utton

Shhh! is a delightful children’s book to review as it is an amusing book which I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

This children’s book is illustrated by the very talented Peter Utton. The illustration on the front cover makes you want to pick up the book and look inside to find out more.

Sally Grindley is the author who conjures up the feeling of tense excitement and adventure as the castle is explored. The publisher is Hodder Children’s Books.

The book starts with

Shhh!

Be quiet!

This is the set up for our exploration into the castle where the giant and his wife live.

This is no ordinary giant. He is fearsome and very ugly. There is an undoubted feeling of unease as you enter into this castle

Shhh!

Be quiet!

Once, I had read this kids book I was not surprised when I read on the back cover of the book the following

“Winner of The Children’s Book Award and short listed for the smarties Prize.”

This is not a green children’s book but an excellent book which you will enjoy reading as it is full of fun and excitement
